Frequently Asked Questions

What is the plan for the newly announced Paramus Campus?

Paramus will serve as the new flagship home for our Al-Ghazaly High School (7th - 12th grade). Our continued growth necessitated a larger and more robust campus and the current building in Wayne is no longer a viable long-term option.

Why did you choose this property in Paramus?

The IEF property search committee viewed and studied over 50 properties in North Jersey to serve as the new flagship home for our high school. The Paramus property is nearly twice the size of our existing high school building and will allow us to design a state of the art educational and recreational facility custom tailored for educating your children.

Tell me more about the property.

The Paramus property is 6.7 acres and situated in one of the most accessible cities in North Jersey. It was previously a clothing store and currently a furniture outlet store. The property includes 2 structures sized 73,000 sqft and 4,000 sqft respectively. The large building is composed of 3 sections including high ceilings making it ready to be converted into a gym and auditorium.

Why is the IEF leaving the Wayne Property?

The IEF team attempted multiple times to purchase our current Wayne building but the owner is deciding not to sell at this time. This was a difficult decision and we did our best to find a new location that is still accessible for our Wayne residents.

Will you be providing transportation to Paramus?

Although the Paramus location may not be ideal for some families, we calculated this new location will only add to the commute for 15% of our existing families. In fact, it will decrease the commute for many other. The distance from Al-Hikmah School to Paramus is only 10 miles. Meanwhile the distance from Al-Hikmah to current Wayne school is 9 miles, essentially the same distance. To accommodate this transition, we will offer shuttle service from our Prospect Park campus.

When will the Paramus Campus open?

Fall 2025, InshAllah. This is an aggressive but achievable timeline. The site is already approved for private school use, which will significantly streamline the approval process.

What is the plan for this coming school year 2024-2025?

We have secured a lease extension for Al-Ghazaly High school at the Wayne campus and will continue operating as is for the coming school year 2024-2025 while the Paramus property is renovated.

What is the current status of the Paramus campus?

We are in the final stages of purchasing the property. With the grace of Allah SWT, we completed our due diligence and secured the minimum financing required to purchase the building.

What will happen to the Wayne Campus?

The Wayne campus is owned by a Muslim organization. We are in regular communication with them and this update has been shared prior to it being made public. According to their communications, the site will continue to be used to educate Muslim youth. However, we cannot comment on plans and intentions of other organizations.

What is the plan for the Teaneck Building?

The Teaneck building, owned by IEF and a prior home for our high school from 1995 to 2013, is currently being leased to the same Islamic school organization that owns Wayne. Upon their vacancy of the Teaneck building, we intend on re-opening a second elementary school there to serve the Muslim communities of Teaneck & Bergen County.
